The games committee is a committee of the Sport Medicine Council of Manitoba. It functions as an advisory body to the Council relating to matters of single or multi-sport games hosted within the Province of Manitoba. Additionally, in conjunction with the Medical committee of a multi-sport Games Host Society within Manitoba or the inter-Provincial Sport Medicine Network for a multi-sport Games hosted outside of Manitoba, the committee can advise in the coordination and provision of medical and paramedical service personnel for provincial, inter-provincial and international games.

Major Games
Selection of the health care team for Team Canada at Major Games is done through each practitioner's National Organization with final approval from the Games' Association. Many Manitobans have been selected as members of the health care teams for major games.

Event Coverage
The SMCM can help sports and organizers to organize and contact medical coverage for their events. The SMCM distributes the host information to its member groups for the recruitment of medical personnel. The SMCM has an event coverage form that helps the sport to determine its needs for the event.

Equipment Loan / Rental Program
The SMCM has medical equipment that is available for loan or rent to sport medicine personnel or organizers of sporting events. A deposit is required on all equipment borrowed and rented, and fees are determined by the equipment being used.
